Self-loading rifle
A ”’self-loading rifle”’ is a rifle in which the next cartridge is loaded into the chamber from the magazine as part of the action of the weapon upon firing a shot. Self-loading actions include both automatic and semi-automatic. In a semi-automatic weapon, once loaded and cocked, each depression of the trigger will fire one shot, while an automatic firearm will continue to discharge rounds as the mechanism cycles, until the magazine is emptied or the trigger is released. They may be operated by a number of mechanisms, all of which derive their power from the explosion of the powder in the cartridge that also fires the bullet. Historically, the self-loading design was the successor to the repeating rifle, which stored a number of cartridges within the weapon, but required manual action to load a fresh cartridge before each shot. Automatically loading the next round more easily allows for rapid fire.
M16
The ”’M16”’ was an initial version fielded in the early 1960s; however the U.S. Army began to field the ”’M16A1”’ en masse in 1965, with almost all of the US Army having switched over to the system by 1967. The US Marine Corps also adopted the system during this period. Adoption of the ”’M16A2”’ by both the US Army and USMC started in the late 1980s, and the ”’M16A4”’ began to be fielded even more recently. They are automatic rifles, firing a 5.56 mm round. During the late 1970s a roughly standardized load for this ammunition was adopted throughout NATO, (See: ”5.56 mm NATO”).

List of Modern Weapons
After World War II most nations adopted 9 mm Luger pistols for military use. The most popular version was the FN Browning Hi-Power, which was the first high capacity pistol; another popular model was the Walther P38 because of its many modern safety features. In 1971 Smith & Wesson was the first company to offer a safe double-action high capacity pistol with its |Model 59. CZ launched its CZ-75 in 1975. Beretta released its Beretta 92 in 1976. Glock came up with the ultra modern Glock 17 in 1982 and SIG-Sauer introduced its model P226 in 1983. In the early 90s, Heckler & Koch combined what they thought were the most desirable attributes of semi-automatics in their pistol, the HK USP.
List of Ancient Weapons
The Paleolithic or Palaeolithic (Greek παλαιός paleos=old and λίθος lithos=stone or the ‘Old Stone Age‘) was the first period in the development of human technology of the Stone Age. It began with the introduction of the first stone tools by hominids such as Homo habilis (around 2,000,000 years ago) and lasted until the introduction of agriculture. It ended with the Mesolithic, or in areas with an early neolithisation, the Epipaleolithic.
Information Warfare
In modern warfare, since all redoubts are traps, maneuver and coordination of forces is decisive, overshadowing particular weapons. The goal of every modern commander is therefore to “operate within the observation-decision-action cycle of the enemy.” In this way, the modern commander can bring overwhelming force to bear on isolated groups of the enemy, and “tactically” overwhelm an enemy.
